Education and Training Benefits

Educating our children and providing training for our workforce is vital to the economic stability of the United States. Equally important is that these education assistance programs provides you the opportunity to get a good education.

Many of these education programs provide students with financial assistance by awarding educational grants and scholarships. Most of the grants and scholarships are for undergraduate college education. There are some scholarships and grants that help provide funding for graduate and doctoral students.

There are also Educational and Cultural internships and fellowships that encourage students to get involved with the global community, gain insights into U.S. foreign policy, and represent America to the world.

In order for college students to receive federal funding, they must first fill out and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. Emergency Management Institute (EMI)

The Emergency Management Institute at Emmitsburg, Maryland, and Bluemont, Virginia provide expert training opportunities for emergency response personnel. The training is for firefighters and emergency response workers or students.

The program assists with travel and per diem expenses, provided independent study programs free-of-charge to eligible applicants, and provides a residential education program at the EMI facility.

Indian Education Assistance

There are many education assistance programs that are designed to help Native American students further their education. These programs include higher education grants and loan repayment programs. There are also Matching Grants to Tribes for Scholarship programs.

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)

The goal of the SSS program is to provide support services to low-income students, first generation college students, and disabled students that are enrolled in post-secondary education programs. The program is designed to help the students stay in school and increase the college graduation rates. Eligible students receive career counseling and guidance, mentoring, and tutoring.

Veteran Affairs

There are several great educational and training programs for veterans. These programs include vocational counseling, the Montgomery GI Bill for active duty and selected reserves, and educational assistance for dependents and survivors.
